“L’Annonciation” and “Messenger” are musical pieces especially composed for Patriarch
Bechara El Rai on the occasion of the Feast of Annunciation and in celebration of 6 th
anniversary of the patriarch’s election. The album was released on the 24 th of March 2017.
“L’Annonciation” and “Messenger” attempt to translate, in musical beats and strokes,
aspects of divinity that encapsulate his excellency’s religious contributions to the Lebanese
society. The album also includes “Dear Santa” that has the ability to recreate childhood
memories of Christmas in the minds and psyche of adults. Shaun played this piece at
Angelic Sound of Christmas concert on the 16 th of December 2016 and received numerous
accolades and standing ovations. Moreover, “Dada Alive” is Shaun’s emotional tribute to his
maternal grandfather, Raymond Raphael, who has had an impact on Shaun’s personal and
musical development. “Dada Alive” commemorates his grandfather’s life and contributions
on a personal and communal level celebrating a grandson’s eternal love for his grandfather.
In line with tributes, “Our Sunday Morning” is Shaun’s token of gratitude to his father
capturing father and son relationships through memories of Sunday trips and family
gatherings that developed into a strong bond.
